Surveys of defined contribution retirement plan participants show that employees continue to look to their employers for guidance in saving and investment for retirement. Employees acknowledge they would be in far worse shape without access to an employer sponsored plan. As participants consider their current circumstances and expectations for the future, nearly all express regret about their personal savings habits.
As a result, employers have abundant opportunities to structure retirement plans in ways that drive more effective and efficient retirement preparations for their employees. Modern plan design strategies can help participants save sooner, save more and provider more power to help them cross the retirement finish line.
